Nathan "Bluto" Smith is a research engineer at the Operator Performance Laboratory(OPL) at the Iowa Technology Institue (ITI). In the past Nathan was licensed by the state of Iowa as a Journeyman Wireman with over 12 years of experience in the service and repair, as well as design and installation of residential and commercial wiring systems. Nathan joined the OPL team as an undergraduate in the spring of 2018 with a BSE in Electrical Engineering with minors in both Buisness and Computer Science. Nathan's work at the OPL focusses on electrical and mechanical fabrication and design, embedded systems design, software engineering, project management, human subjects' research, and flight test operations.
