Tyler Dunkel is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Operator Performance Laboratory. During the Spring of 2015, Tyler obtained his BSE in electrical engineering with minors in mathematics and computer science at the University of Iowa. During his undergraduate studies he focused on software engineering and hardware development. At OPL, Tyler aids in the design and implementation of software. He previously interned as a Software Engineer at Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri and at Innomatix LLC in Iowa City, Iowa. As a senior he helped re-implement the famous Van Allen Explorer projects by writing the embedded software on a new probe set to be launched on a CubeSat in early 2016. He will graduate with his master's degree in computer engineering from the University of Iowa in the spring semester of 2016.
In his free time he enjoys playing video games, watching football, playing soccer, and tinkering with electronics.
